Important: Identifying roads where a vignette is required isn’t a difficult task. White and green road signs mean that these roads require obtaining a Czech digital vignette.
When should I buy a Czech vignette?
Some Czech highways require covering tolls immediately once you enter them. These roads include the highways D5 and D8 (when driving from Germany) and D2 (when driving from Slovakia).
It means that you are allowed to drive to the nearest stop, where you can obtain a Czech highway vignette at one of the vignette outlets.
To ensure a smooth journey through the Czech Republic, you are recommended to purchase a Czech e-vignette before you enter the country. This will help you to save plenty of time as you won’t need to look for the nearest vignette sales point after crossing the Czech border.
